Byte Night on behalf of Action for Children

Byte Night on behalf of Action for Children

Byte Night, the annual IT industry sleep out, supports the vital work of Action for Children, helping them support and speak out for vulnerable and neglected children and young people right across the UK.

Each year over 700 IT professionals spend a night experiencing a little of what it might be like to be homeless to raise money to help Action for Children tackle the root causes of youth homelessness. Their support not only helps to keep thousands of young people off the streets but also helps them build better lives with secure accommodation, education and training opportunities. For more information, please visit: http://www.bytenight.org.uk/ and if you would like to contribute to this important cause, 1E’s fundraising page is now live at: http://www.justgiving.com/s1eepers

British Association of Adoption and Fostering

British Association of Adoption and Fostering

BAAF have been working for over 25 years to find loving, permanent families for children in care and ensure that these children receive the best possible support. There are many children, particularly boys over 7 years of age, groups of brothers and sisters, minority ethnic children and children with special or complex needs, for whom it is very difficult, at times impossible, to find a family. An estimated 40% of children who need to be adopted are never found a permanent family. Support from 1E means that BAAF can find new families for 300 children this year through its Be My Parent newspaper. http://www.baaf.org.uk
