Day 2 of TechEd Europe 2010 a Busy One for 1E

Day 2 of TechEd Europe continued the Cloud discussions and sessions.  Microsoft is investing heavily in the Cloud, as well as, many of the vendors participating in the event.  The alphabet soup of acronyms keeps growing and who really knows what the final product will look like.  The Cloud is important, as it represents the push of the industry.

One interesting take away from today is that the next version of System Center Configuration Manager (v.Next) will release sometime in 2012 and Microsoft has officially labeled this release as a 2012 product.  Beta 2 will, most likely, release at the Microsoft Management Summit (2011) and the RTM will, most likely, be announced at TechEd Europe 2012.  Folks are crossing their fingers that the dates will hold.

Despite all of the talk about the Cloud, at the end of the day, a couple hot topics still remain key to attendance of TechEd Europe: Windows 7 migrations and cost savings/IT Efficiency.  These topics became clearly evident due to the number of attendees in the 1E stand sessions where we covered each topic and how 1E is solves these issues.  Attendees are struggling to locate real value at TechEd Europe.  Thankfully, 1E is providing a respite from the Cloud talks and promoting solutions to current problems.

Our sessions on Shopping, Windows 7 migrations, NightWatchman (PC and Server editions) and Configuration Manager were full and overflowing!
