AppClarity 4.0 is now available for download

Hello All,

We are pleased to announce that AppClarity 4.0 is now available. You can get it from the support portal or alternatively by calling support or 1E.

AppClarity 4.0 includes a number of very exciting features:

remotely collect inventory of applications

Agentless Server Software Inventory

AppClarity now has the ability to remotely collect inventory of applications and important hardware characteristics such as number of CPUs and CPU cores from Servers. The latter is something that systems management tools such as SCCM often struggle to do accurately, which very often causes over licensing and massive waste.

This leverages our ActiveEfficiency Scout technology and has no dependency on SCCM.

Server licenses are typically managed in a different way to desktop licenses

Server License Management

Server licenses are typically managed in a different way to desktop licenses. This is often based on the hardware characteristics of the server (such as number of cores or processors).

AppClarity 4.0 features a completely redesigned license management system that can make managing this complexity a pleasure.

patented UsefulWork technology to hunt down unused server software

UsefulWork for Server Applications

AppClarity 4.0 also introduces the reinvention of our patented UsefulWork technology to hunt down unused server software.

As an end user you just see the usage pie charts work exactly as it does for desktop software. Simple.

VMWare module is designed to help our customers reduce their spend on VMWare software maintenance

First Vendor Optimization Pack: VMWare

AppClarity 4.0 introduces the first of several planned vendor license optimization modules. The VMWare module is designed to help our customers reduce their spend on VMWare software maintenance by identifying which licenses can be downgraded.

We are offering this module for free to early adopters that buy AppClarity 4.0 server endpoint licenses.

application inventory data is now connected to the internet to allow regular updates

Application Catalogue Cloud Sync

The application catalogue that AppClarity uses to clean up the application inventory data is now connected to the internet to allow regular updates. This will also enable us to focus our catalogue efforts where it will provide the most benefit to the most customers.
