A company network is sent security warnings every day. Even the largest of IT teams with the best security features in place gets inundated with them. DANGER! BEWARE! WATCH OUT!

Alerts and threats are constantly berating Security and IT teams. Sometimes, they spend an entire day sifting through them, leaving other prioritized actions to be pushed to the next day. And then the next. And then the next. This pattern of behavior has to stop, and it can with one simple solution: automation.

But why are IT teams so skeptical of it? Most workers in the field assume that it signals the end of their jobs.

This is just not the case.

Security threats aren’t going to cease and there are plenty of day-to-day concerns for your IT teams to focus on. Trust us, they won’t be out of work any time soon.

CIOs need to take control of this concept and encourage their organizations to hop on the automation train. Now. Automation elevates businesses by freeing up the teams to do things like threat-hunt, employee assistance, or, work on other projects that the business requires. They may even have a little time to be creative!

Did you know hackers can automate their attacks?

It seems like a straightforward concept, yet many organizations across the globe still refuse to employ this way of working, even though automation tools have been popping up in businesses for years. The important message to drive home to everyone is that automation isn’t a replacement. Automation is a complement to the work that’s already being done. If you have thirty automated security threats attacking your IT estate, and one tool to remediate them automatically, those are precious moments you get back to business-as-usual activities.

No one person should be the “automation expert”.

It should be a team effort. With this in mind, you can expect your team to grow in a robust, well-managed way. Automation isn’t the death of IT teams—it’s the catalyst of growth that the industry demands.
