1E achieves major milestone with 10 million users worldwide
New York office secures an additional two million licenses to help organizations reduce the cost of managing their Windows environments
LONDON, UK – 3 SEPTEMBER, 2008 – 1E, a leading provider of software and professional services for Windows Management, today announced that it has reached an important milestone with 10 million users worldwide. Over 1,000 organizations worldwide are now realizing significant cost savings in managing their Windows environment through the use of proven 1E solutions.
Of these, more than 6.5 million licenses have been sold for 1E‟s award-winning NightWatchman and 1E WakeUp PC power management solutions. Other success stories include the Nomad Enterprise and Shopping software distribution packages, which now serve some 2.2 million and 1.2 million global seats respectively.
A key factor in this latest sales success has been the opening of 1E‟s new US office in New York City – a move designed to service this fast-growing market more directly. Already, 1E‟s New York office has signed deals with organizations such as AT&T and a number of top financial institutions, adding a further two million seats to the global installed base for 1E‟s software solutions.
“When we took the decision to open a dedicated office in New York, it was with these kinds of major contract wins in mind, so we‟re delighted to see these ambitions being fulfilled,” comments Sumir Karayi, CEO, 1E. “Our market-leading solutions such as NightWatchman 5.3, 1E WakeUp 5.5, Shopping 3.0 and Nomad Enterprise 2.5 are helping to drive down the total cost of ownership for corporate and government PCs worldwide, and we look forward to helping even more organizations achieve these savings,” he adds.
Over the past year, Verizon Wireless has deployed the SMS Management Pack from 1E, which includes 1E WakeUp , which ensures that all PCs, whether on or off, can be patched immediately, and NightWatchman®, which significantly reduces the power consumed by PCs. This power management software is now available on 63,000 Verizon Wireless managed desktops company-wide, resulting in a 24 percent reduction in both PC power consumption and CO2 emissions. The initiative reduces annual energy costs by $1.3 million and carbon emissions by an estimated 7,700 tons.
“At Verizon Wireless, we view going „green‟ as important, not only for the environment and our business, but also for our customers. Energy saving initiatives make us more efficient and enable us to provide improved products and services for our customers.” Ajay Waghray, Chief Information Officer, Verizon Wireless
