1E Nomad 2012 supercharges the OSD process with Verizon Wireless to migrate more than 30,000 systems in one month

1E-Nomad-2012-supercharge-Verizon-Wireless

1E has recently talked quite a bit about how we’re supercharging Windows 7 migrations with Nomad 2012. We’ve also mentioned an amazing statistic which is how Nomad 2012 has enabled a customer to migrate 30,000+ systems in just one month. This isn’t just a made up story with a made up customer – we’re happy to say that customer is Verizon Wireless.
With this revolutionary technology from 1E, Verizon Wireless was able to:

  • Migrate 80,000 systems in just over four months
  • Deploy more than 30,000 of those systems in one month
  • This was an average of 1,000 to 1,200 systems per business day

Probably the biggest thing to note is that this was done with their existing staff and business as usual because Nomad 2012 doesn’t require extra consoles, a competing infrastructure, network requirements or device drivers, all of which would’ve added more administrative overhead and risk to the systems.
We recently saw another organization talk at a recent conference about migrating 90,000 systems – in 16 months – and they proudly boasted that this was a rapid deployment. When compared to what 1E and Verizon Wireless have done together you can see that the speed alone results in less project risk and less time which equates to less cost. In fact if you compare the four month period with a 16 month period this represents an 75% reduction in deployment time.
