How the unplanned obstructs digital transformation

How the unplanned obstructs digital transformation Mandy Fisher | Mar 27, 2017 | 1E News & Community, SAM, Security

When you look at the role of a “company” in today’s world, the responsibility a business has towards its employees and customers now contains something that didn’t exist 50 years ago: an IT estate.
With the advancement of technology comes the woes for when the technology fails. Because every company today is deemed a “digital” company with IT being at the core of its productivity, some form of interruption occurs every single day. We think this is completely unacceptable. Disruption means delay and delay means loss of money, loss of progress, and loss of important resources.  As our CEO Sumir Karayi states, “…IT needs tools made for the modern world. Before you can prescribe a cure, however, you need to understand the problem.” The full report is available for you to view here.

In an effort to understand more clearly where exactly these problems are stemming from, we polled over 1,000 IT experts who are active within the industry. This resulting report shows insights into a day in the life of enterprise IT teams for whom almost a third of every day is spent to reacting to requests that they didn’t plan for. You can see in this example that 59% of the time spent on unplanned requests are Security related with a whopping  67% of time spent is in regards to Helpdesk issues.

Take a look at how long it takes just to identify the issue! It takes 5 times longer to resolve the issue than to identify it. All of this is wasted time.

By asking these professionals the right questions, we have gleaned the important information necessary to provide answers to common productivity issues. Watch this video to learn more about the report from our VP of Product, Jason Keogh.
