What’s new in 1E Nomad 7.1: The Modern Management Edition

Nomad-7 1-blog

What is Nomad?

1E Nomad is a suite of capabilities designed to optimize Microsoft endpoint management technologies such as ConfigMgr and now, Microsoft Endpoint Manager. Nomad’s peer-to-peer technology and bandwidth protection algorithm ensures that software updates and applications are delivered reliably, quickly and with guaranteed zero disruptions to the user’s work or video calls.
Nomad has eliminated the need for over 20,000 servers in some customer deployments and as many as 250,000 servers globally.

How does Nomad optimize content distribution?

Nomad has long been relied on by large organizations to reduce the cost and complexity of managing their endpoints with Microsoft’s System Centre Configuration Manager, and now Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
1E Nomad simplifies the management of Microsoft endpoint technologies with the ability to centrally manage content distribution across all sources and devices, reducing the overall cost by eliminating the need for dedicated branch distribution servers and accelerating time to deployment.
The integration with the 1E Tachyon Platform means that IT can now easily troubleshoot and remediate content distribution issues in real time and within a single pane of glass. In addition, Nomad keeps your organization secure, with patches delivered quickly and reliably and with zero disruption to employees.
In recent times, the surge of remote working and the expected shift to hybrid working has catalyzed a greater need to manage devices wherever they are located. As a result, we’ve seen many IT organizations embrace Microsoft Modern Management. With more meetings taking place via video conferencing software, organizations need the most efficient bandwidth-protecting technology.
Unlike LEDBAT, which uses up to 100% of available bandwidth, Nomad intelligently uses only available bandwidth for all content distribution (including Delivery Optimization), so your employees are never impacted by Modern Endpoint Manager or software deployments.

So what’s new in Nomad 7.1 for Modern Management?

We’re glad you asked! The standout feature is the new dashboard that enables real-time visibility into content distribution, whether that be Nomad or Delivery Optimization (DO). With the latest integration with the 1E Tachyon Platform, you’ll also be able to take advantage of our real-time remediation capabilities to drilldown into problem devices, investigate issues, and issue a fix in a single pane of glass without the need to remote control into the device.
What’s more, Nomad gives you complete control over content distribution with the ability to:

  • Centrally manage content in the Nomad cache on clients to ensure seamless distribution
  • Remove content from any client
  • Visualize in real time which endpoints have received the content

With Nomad now on the 1E Tachyon Platform, you’ll also be able to take advantage of 1E’s solution for Unified Experience Management, including security enhancements for patch and compliance, in a single pane of glass. The additional benefit is you’ll be able to take advantage of additional modules at no extra cost for 6 months.
“We see this release as being a down payment on our vision for Nomad to help all enterprises benefit from Modern Management technology through greater adoption of tools like Microsoft Endpoint Manager. These new features, along with the platform architecture are really exciting, but are just the beginning of a new phase of substantial investment in Nomad. We have a compelling roadmap of capabilities in progress to continue to make Nomad the best choice for running Microsoft Endpoint management at scale.”
– Sumir Karayi, CEO and founder of 1E

How do I upgrade?

Upgrading is as simple as installing the 1E Client!
If you’re upgrading to version 7.1 on the Tachyon platform, you’ll also be eligible to advantage of other tools in the platform for free for six months – no strings attached. And we mean that. If, after six months, Tachyon becomes an indispensable tool, we’ll help to create an active business case for an ongoing commitment.
The difference here is that this business case is built on real outcomes that have happened in your organization so it’s devoid of conjecture and focused on value. However, if you’re not completely convinced after that period, we’ll also help remove the technology for free, and you owe us nothing.
