Windows 10 Upgrade Fail on Live TV

Windows-10-Upgrade-Fail

A lot of you will have seen yesterday’s KCCI 8 News TV weather broadcast mishap, when one of its Windows 10 upgrade notifications popped up on live TV. (If you haven’t yet, you can view it below in full.)
It made for great viewing, but also prompted the question – why hasn’t KCCI 8 News TV – and millions of other businesses – migrated to Windows 10 yet?
For most businesses postponing migration, many of their employees will already be making happy use of Windows 10 at home. Furthermore, it’s the most secure OS ever. Concerned about cyber security? Of course you are. Well, the fact is that Windows 10 makes businesses a lot more secure.
Surely taking advantage is a no-brainer, isn’t it?
Perhaps one reason for the resistance lies in that ingloriously displayed upgrade notification itself. There is a prevailing sense that Microsoft is simply too large a company to tailor its approach to every single one of its enterprise clients (taking account of the specific needs of live TV, for instance). Knowing this, companies are nervous migration will bring with it a level of disruption to their day-to-day business that they simply can’t afford.
1E believes that there is an answer to this apparent impasse: automation.
Automation results in happy users, happy IT staff and minimized disruption to your business, while letting you embrace the added security and efficiency of Windows 10. So, if you want to avoid disruption to your next board meeting, key customer engagement, or even weather forecast, have a listen to our free webinar ‘Creaking infrastructure, stressed IT staff and cranky users. Does your Windows 10 migration have to be this way?’ and find out how automation could make a difference to your migration.
