Founder, CEO and Board Member

Sumir Karayi founded 1E in 1997 with the goal to drive down the cost of IT for organizations of all sizes by identifying and eliminating IT waste. Sumir pioneered PC power management, and leads 1E’s focus on enabling enterprises to Run IT For Less and has established a market-leading role for his company. He has driven 1E innovations to achieve $2.5bn in IT cost savings for its customers, $1.3bn of which come from energy efficiencies alone, cutting CO2 emissions by 11.5 million tons.  Under Sumir’s leadership, 1E has become a successful global organization, which has seen considerable acclaim in the industry. It ranks in the Sunday Times International Track 100 league table of top private companies and has been heralded as one of the top 20 companies for CIOs to watch by CIO magazine.

1E remains privately held and is headquartered in London, with offices in New York and Delhi, with 26 million licenses deployed across more than 1,700 organizations in 42 countries worldwide.

Sumir gained a BEng in Electronic Engineering and MSc in IT from Warwick University.

Technical Enablement Manager

A huge fan of the Chevy Camaro. Loves to talk old muscle cars, Systems Management and other techy stuff. He is a 13 year Microsoft Enterprise Mobility MVP. He was one of the original owners of myITforum, Inc. He is also on the board of the Louisville Systems Management User Group. Since joining 1E almost 4 years ago, he has been a Senior SE but has since been moved to being a Project Manager of the new 1E Community and Manager of SE Enablement for 1E. He is an avid fan of Tachyon, which is a hypothetical particle that always moves faster than light, and also the Fastest Endpoint detection and response solution available!!

Technical Architect

Troy is a Technical Architect at 1E, which entails providing technical direction for 1E technologies, assuring their qualities in efficiently managing hardware, systems, users and other end points. Troy is well known in the Configuration Manager community as a speaker and subject matter expert. Working with some of the largest companies in the world as a consultant with 1E for 8 years, he has been involved with dozens of SCCM and Windows migrations and upgrades. Troy has been instrumental in collaborating with others at 1E to creating some of the core foundations of Software Lifecycle Automation (SLA) such as automated application rationalization and OSD mapping solution to name a couple. Many Fortune 500 companies have since benefited from SLA for their Windows migrations and are sure to take advantage of it during their ongoing migration to Windows 10. In addition to being a Technical Architect, Troy's role continues to evolve, now as an Evangelist and Technical Lead for 1E Tachyon.

Senior Solutions Engineer

Shaun is a Microsoft MVP Windows Insider MVP and executive at Central Texas Systems Management User Group (CTSMUG). Shaun is a frequent speaker at conferences like MMS, Gartner, TechEd Europe, TechEd North America, IT Dev Connections, System Center Rallies, and Systems Management User Groups (SMUGs). Shaun is an award winning blogger syndicated from www.shauncassells.com. Shaun specializes in analysis, optimization, and design of Tactical Solutions to Strategic Business Goals. Prior to joining 1E in 2010, he worked for a Global 100 company as the Configuration Manager Service Owner and Architect. Recently as a Principle Consultant at 1E, he accomplished design, review, and improvements to a variety of Configuration Manager environments from the very small to sites with a half million seats. He provided leadership that created a patented automated application rationalization and usage based OSD mapping solution in use by multiple fortune 500 companies. These days you can find Shaun traveling to help discover, review, and improve business productivity across the world.

Product Manager, Tachyon

Adrian Todd has been with 1E since 2011 and has been the Tachyon Product Manager since its inception in 2015. Before becoming a Product Manager, Adrian was a Principle Consultant where he specialized in System Management Design, Operational Processes and Operating System Deployment. Prior to joining 1E, he worked for 19 years at John Lewis Partnership where he held various roles from application developer to Technical Lead for Configuration Manager and also worked on Citrix, VMware and Microsoft server technologies.


Solutions Engineer

Michael Mott is currently a solutions engineer, and has been with 1E for 5 years.  His current role involves presales demos, standing up proof of concept environments and general tech maintenance with existing clients.  Before coming to 1E, he was a CM admin for the University of Michigan Medical Center where he migrated the medical school to SCCM 2007 from 2003.  Prior to that engagement he worked for Pfizer as a SMS admin managing 120k clients for the global research environment, with various other duties managing McAfee, OSD builds and executive support of the VIPS.  Mike is recently married as of 2017 and enjoys spending time with his wife Annie.  For fun he likes to BBQ good cuts of meat, ‘dirt fish’ (also known as metal detecting) and you can find him on the golf course on the weekends!

Technical Evangelist

Steve Campbell (aka “Soup”) joined 1E as their first ever Technical Evangelist in 2017 and has been in IT 20+ years (including nearly 17 years with Microsoft Services). He’s been deploying Windows operating and management systems since Windows 2000 and SMS 2.0 for countless customers around the world. Steve has led or been instrumental in most of the Deployment, Servicing and OS migration initiatives, solutions and programs at Microsoft and he now brings that depth and breadth of experience to 1E as a Product Manager for the 1E Windows Servicing Suite.

When he’s not saving the world from legacy application and operating systems, he can be found under the hood of classic sports car, truck or muscle car or courtside at one of his daughter’s NCAA volleyball games. Steve resides in Nashville TN.

Solutions Engineer

Jason is a Solutions Engineer at 1E. He previously worked for one of the largest healthcare providers in the New England area. During his 15 year tenure Jason held many senior roles ranging from Systems Management, Active Directory and Citrix to name a few. Jason is well versed as a technologist and considered a subject matter expert in many products within the Microsoft software stack. Outside of technology he enjoys time with his family, flying small planes (when not on large ones) and the illustrious New England sports scene!
