How does patching help you #StayCurrent?

How does patching help you #StayCurrent?

Patch management – Fixing the holes where the rain gets in

Would you choose to live in a house with a leaky roof and not bother to fix the holes? (There’s a Beatles tune stuck in my head now) Of course, you wouldn’t. So why don’t you keep all your computers up to date with the latest patches and updates?
Patch management is the unglamorous key to business success. It’s what keeps systems running, what prevents ransomware breaking your business and what delivers the innovative new features that could be your competitive differentiator.
The recent WannaCry and Petya attacks have helped focus the minds of many IT organizations on how to ensure faster deployment of updates. Upcoming 1E research suggests more than 25% of organizations are investing more in update rollouts since the WannaCry attack. That’s great, but the fact that 75% haven’t suggested that either they are being unduly complacent or don’t fully understand the risks they’re taking. (Take a look at the State of the Migration report we released earlier this year for a taste of what real IT professionals experience on a day to day basis.)

Unfortunately, patch management isn’t easy. Microsoft has delivered many great technologies to help distribute the incredible volume of updates for Windows, Office365 and all their applications. Each has specific benefits but they also each have their challenges. Trying to keep on top of all the different options and how to optimize update rollout to ensure compliance is a major task. Few IT administrators would claim to be an expert in all the ways Windows and applications can be kept up to date.
That’s why we’re hosting a live webinar to demystify patch management and give you a better idea of why you should #StayCurrent. Most importantly, our two in-house experts Jim Bezdan and Dave Fuller will talk you through the recent changes in Windows updates, the ramifications from the WannaCry and Petya attacks, as well as insider tips on staying current with your software. Perhaps your organization has been slow to update or maybe you’ve been personally touched by malware. Whatever your standing, the information given in this webinar will incite a refreshed motivation to #StayCurrent. The webinar will include detailed recommendations and examples of how to manage patch deployment.
There’s no excuse to avoid fixing those holes in the roof to stop the rain coming in. Join us tomorrow.
