New addition to 1E management team signals focus on talent management and business growth

London, UK, April 03, 2014 – 1E, the global leader in IT efficiency software, today announced the appointment of Nick Bartlett into the newly-created role of VP for Global HR. The move marks a commitment from 1E to strengthen its management team and build a ‘people first’ culture that supports the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Based in the UK headquarters, Bartlett will be responsible for all elements of talent management for 1E’s 230-strong workforce across the UK, India and USA. This includes the design of a new organisational structure that promotes long-term careers, employee development initiatives and proactive internal communications.

Bartlett will also play a critical role in 1E’s growth plans, managing the recruitment and on-boarding of up to 100 additional employees over the next two years. The focus is on sales and operations experts in the USA, strengthening its engineering function and corporate services team in India and building out engineering, product development and support functions in the UK.

Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E, commented: “Nick’s passion for talent management and ability to motivate and manage large global teams will be a huge asset to 1E and provide all our employees with a voice within our business. Having a strategic HR function in place is critical to our growth plans, ensuring we have the right structure in place to attract and retain the best talent, offering long-term careers.”

Bartlett brings 13 years of operations management and HR experience to 1E, following senior HR roles within large retail and tech companies including UNIQLO, where he headed up the HR function for the UK’s 1,500 employees and led global HR projects for more than 70,000 people. Bartlett also spent eight years in operations and leadership roles for Oxfam, managing over 700 staff and volunteers.

“My career has shown me that while people can be a big cost to the business they are typically the biggest asset,” said Nick Bartlett. “1E is full of very smart and creative people and I want to offer our existing staff and new recruits the vision of a long-term career where their contribution to the company’s success is recognised. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build a strategic HR approach that aligns talent management with long-term business growth.”
