New York and London, August 21, 2015: 1E, the global leader in software lifecycle automation, has today released a new version of the Nomad Windows Software Deployment tool, the industry standard solution for managing software deployment. It offers specific support for faster Windows 10 migration and ground-breaking new features including Nomad Pre-caching, OSD Integration Enhancements, new Security hardening improvements, a new release of PXE Everywhere 3.0, Endpoint Agent Installer Solution Accelerator to assist in rapid deployment of Nomad 6.0 and PXE Everywhere 3.0 agents and the Active Efficiency platform.

Automated systems management and support for Windows 10 deployment

The recent launch of Windows 10 means that IT departments are now faced with a migration process that threatens to increase the load placed on the corporate bandwidth and infrastructure, disrupting the smooth running of their business. Nomad alleviates these fears by using bandwidth optimization to remove the competition between migration and day-to-day business traffic while eliminating servers and reducing network complexity thanks to peer-to-peer delivery.

In addition to supporting Windows 10, 1E will also provide support to Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager 2012 SP2 and Configuration Manager 2012 R2 SP1 (ConfigMgr) in Nomad 6.0, as well as previous releases 5.2 and 5.5.

Additional enhancements include:

Faster deployment through pre-caching – Nomad 6.0 helps enhance ConfigMgr’s download capability, allowing users to pre-load the Nomad cache of particular machines directly from the ConfigMgr Administrator console – eliminating manual download processes and vastly improving deployment speed.

Simplified OS Deployment with Enhanced ConfigMgr Task Sequence Integration – Nomad 6.0 introduces key enhancements that drastically simplify the Task Sequence engineering process and reduces the steps required to integrate Nomad with OSD, allowing it to act as Alternate Content Provider during OSD.

Enhanced security during deployments – Nomad version 6.0 includes an advanced FIPS-compliant encryption algorithm (AES-256) for Federal compliance and a new cache access security option restricting access to the Nomad share.

PXE Everywhere 3.0 with UEFI support – Aimed at branch offices where it would be difficult or expensive to install a Windows Deployment Services (WDS) server, this update makes use of Nomad for bandwidth-efficient package transfer to streamline the wipe and reload of multiple PCs on large corporate networks during OS upgrades.
