2014 marks a decade of support for British Association for Adoption and Fostering

London – 28th October 2014 – 1E, the global leader in IT efficiency software, has partnered with the British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) to support UK National Adoption Week, running from 3 to 9 November 2014. The commitment marks a decade of support for the charity, spearheaded by 1E CEO Sumir Karayi, who was named Adoption Supporter of the Year by the BAAF in 2013.

BAAF campaigns to highlight the issues surrounding adoption in the UK and this year the focus is on keeping brothers and sisters together within the adoption process (when this is in the best interest of the children in question). To support the BAAF’s efforts, 1E has launched a company-wide fundraising initiative.

Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E, comments: “The percentage of children in care that go on to higher education is less than five per cent. Businesses can play a key role in helping to give children a better change of fulfilling their potential by supporting the work of the BAAF and encouraging more people to provide a supportive and loving family environment, delivering both immediate and long-term social benefit.”

Marta Montague, Major Donor and Corporate Fundraising Manager, BAAF, comments: “Across the UK over 6,000 children need to be adopted every year. Sumir Karayi has campaigned tirelessly for BAAF over the last ten years and the efforts of companies like 1E enable us to make a positive difference to thousands of lives. Last year alone we matched over 1,000 children with adoptive families and our supporters are critical to making that happen.”

1E has previously raised funds for National Adoption Week through activities as diverse as marathon runs, eat-offs, bake-offs, quiz nights and raffles.
