Software that helps organizations eliminate branch servers through the efficient distribution of updates, applications and OS across restricted bandwidth connections

LAS VEGAS, NV – MICROSOFT MANAGEMENT SUMMIT ‐ APRIL 28, 2008 – 1E, a leading provider of software and professional services for Windows Management, today demonstrates the features of its Nomad Enterprise product at the Microsoft Management Summit 2008. The software solution enables OS images, software applications, updates and content to be distributed quickly and efficiently to remote server‐less branch offices and to environments with limited bandwidth connectivity.

Nomad Enterprise offers a unique systems management tool through its efficient use of network bandwidth to deploy operating systems and distribute software updates to bandwidth‐challenged environments. Consisting of two components, Nomad Branch 2.5 and PXE Lite 1.5, Nomad Enterprise makes Operating System Deployment (OSD) viable in server‐ less branch office scenarios.

Nomad Enterprise ensures that software packages are only copied once over the Wide Area Network (WAN) for the most efficient use of network availability. This means that offices with limited bandwidth can receive software updates more reliably. It also eliminates the need for time consuming site visits or local servers at branches, delivering major cost savings for branch‐oriented businesses, such as retail and banking.

The software provides seamless integration with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007. It prioritizes downloads, enabling, for example, a critical software update to interrupt a large download of an OS image, and supports the sending of status messages reporting on Package download progress.

“Many Nomad Enterprise customers have reduced their branch server count by approximately 50 percent,” said Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E. “Supporting branch sites is a difficult and expensive task. For organizations with many branch offices, or remote server‐less locations, the challenge becomes exponentially harder. Nomad Enterprise enables the IT Manager to handle large‐scale Windows deployments without experiencing massive costs or a drain on resources.”
