1E and the Microsoft Challenge 2008

LONDON, UK – June 11, 2008 On 11th June 2008, seven 1E employees will travel to sunny Stirling and the Trossachs in Scotland to test mind, body and soul to the limit as part of the Microsoft UK Challenge, which raises crucial funds for the NSPCC.

At the competition, nicknamed the ‘Corporate Olympics’, the 1E team will compete against over 100 other companies to take home the Microsoft UK Challenge Trophy.

The reason for this event, and the aim behind the months of grueling training that the team has endured, is to raise funds for the NSPCC. The money raised will be ploughed into services that provide therapy, support and protection to help free children from cruelty and abuse.

Training is going well for the team, with 9 crazed enthusiasts all competing for a place in the final team of 7. Matt, our company personal trainer, is stepping in for the final few weeks just to make sure that those who can’t do 7 laps round the park, followed by 112 squat thrusts, the plank – hold it for 20 minutes – are filtered out.

Courtney Austin, 1E’s marketing manager, is captaining the team this year and will lead them through a number of mentally and physically exhausting challenges with the aim to win… or at least better last year’s position.

We would like to thank MillsHill, Charles Russell, Pure Events and Edelman for sponsoring the team’s running suits to be worn throughout the event, and we are sure that the NSPCC are very grateful for all funds received.
