London and New York, April 2, 2013: 1E, the global leader in IT efficiency software, today announces the appointment of Dwight Chamberlain as Director of Sales for 1E’s US Federal Government business. A seasoned technology leader with a proven track record in sales, service delivery and operations, Chamberlain will lead 1E’s US Federal sales team and be responsible for the company’s direct sales program’s strategy and growth, prioritizing the proliferation of 1E’s IT efficiency solutions in US Federal Government agencies.
Prior to joining 1E, Dwight held sales and leadership roles in the Public Sector divisions of Red Hat and Oracle. Previous to those roles, he worked as a Public Sector Partner with Unisys and KPMG Consulting (BearingPoint) where he led sales and operations teams through aggressive growth while helping government agencies improve their mission delivery.
According to Forrester Research Inc¡. “There is little doubt that the scale, frequency, and sophistication of breaches will continue into 2013 and beyond, but unfortunately, the ability to detect and respond to threats is very immature […] and in the face of these threats, most enterprises are overwhelmed.”
Good security is more easily achievable when systems management is in order.
Therefore government departments need to focus their efforts not only on increasing security but improving IT efficiency and systems management. “We are delighted to be working on cost reduction and security improvement initiatives with several government departments,” said Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E. “Dwight brings his extensive knowledge and a wealth of experience of federal computing, making him a key addition to the team at 1E.”
“As a company that is focused on IT efficiency and can deliver solutions to government agencies that bring measurable IT and cost savings, 1E has already helped several large US Federal agencies achieve significant savings and I’m looking forward to helping more departments and agencies achieve similar results,” said Chamberlain. “If there is something Federal agencies need now more than ever, its ways to reduce their costs.”
“In addition, 1E’s complementary, yet often overlooked, approach to cyber security ensuring IT systems are properly managed and updated, with regular patching of vulnerabilities, application whitelisting, upgrading of legacy (potentially toxic) applications as well as the monitoring employees with admin privileges has been proven to cut out 85 percent of all hacks has immense applicability in the Federal marketplace.”
Dwight began his career at IBM where he spent 20 years and became one of the company’s top sales leaders. He is based in the Washington, DC area.
