1E Extends Relationship with Microsoft to Focus on Development of Integrated IT Efficiency Solutions
NEW YORK & LONDON, 24th January 2011 – 1E, a software and services company that improves enterprise IT efficiency, today announced that it joined the Microsoft Partner Solutions Center (MPSC), building on its long-term, strategic partnership. 1E will work together with Microsoft Corp. to design and validate integrated IT efficiency solutions for joint enterprise customers in virtualized and cloud computing environments.
“As Microsoft`s 2010 ISV/Software Solutions Innovation Partner of the Year, 1E is clearly a valued strategic partner and a proven expert in the IT efficiency space,” said David Hayes, Director of the Microsoft Partner Solutions Center. “Working with 1E will be important to our continued success as its innovative team develops the next generation of IT efficiency solutions to help companies save millions of dollars annually by identifying and reducing waste in hardware, software, energy and time.”
“We help organizations reduce inefficiencies within the IT function,” said Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E. “While virtualization and cloud computing have the potential to help reduce costs for organizations while improving services levels, they are not silver bullets. We already offer solutions to help manage virtualized resources and plan to continue delivering the most advanced efficiency tools in the market as demand increases. We also plan to provide a new set of tools for smaller companies worldwide through a software-as-a-service model.”
NightWatchman® Server Edition by 1E helps organizations identify unproductive physical and virtual servers. This is particularly important with the proliferation of virtual servers, which can be easily created and forgotten. Until recently, adequate tools to monitor whether servers were doing any useful work did not exist. 1E Server Energy and Efficiency Report estimates that non-productive virtual and physical servers cost organizations $24.7 billion every year.
