Nomad-based solution eliminates over 95 percent of distribution point and secondary site servers for fast, cost-effective migration approach

London and New York – May 14, 2014 – 1E, the global leader in IT cost optimization, has today announced its SCCM 2012 Migration solution, giving enterprises a fast and cost-effective way to migrate from Microsoft System Center 2007 Configuration Manager (SCCM) before Microsoft Standard Support ends in July 2014.

Leveraging 1E’s Nomad – the leading software, patch and OS deployment solution for SCCM – the solution has a proven capability to eliminate the need for more than 95 percent of distribution points and secondary servers for a typical SCCM implementation, through its peer-to-peer distribution model.

One global bank has already used the Nomad-based migration solution to radically streamline its SCCM design, reducing the number of distribution points from 7,500 to roll out with just 40. This approach not only reduces the server footprint, but delivers substantial cost-savings and dramatically reduces deployment time.

Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E, comments: “With Microsoft’s Standard Support for SCCM 2007 ending in July 2014, there is increased urgency for organizations to migrate to SCCM 2012. The tendency for a new Config Manager deployment is to take the existing environment and replicate it, but this results in a highly inefficient and costly process. The 1E SCCM 2012 Migration solution delivers on our mission to help organisations run IT for less, providing a fast and effective way to migrate to SCCM 2012 that delivers transformative savings, while simplifying the management of IT through automation.”

Nomad provides a cost effective, low-touch method to efficiently manage software deployment across the organization. It improves resilience and bandwidth efficiency across the IT estate, while providing ease of deployment to remote locations and fully automated systems management throughout the entire process.

1E is demonstrating its SCCM 2012 migration capabilities at TechEd North America 2014 (Booth 1801) this week, alongside 1E’s complete product portfolio, which is designed to find and eliminate unused IT to deliver ongoing transformational savings and efficiencies.
