26 April 2011 – 1E, a global leader in IT efficiency software, has been shortlisted three times in BusinessGreen`s inaugural Leaders Awards 2011. The efficient IT company is in the running for the prestigious Company of the Year award and CEO Sumir Karayi is nominated as Leader of the Year. 1E customer HSBC is also shortlisted for Sustainability Project of the Year for its NightWatchman® advanced PC power management project.
“The BusinessGreen Leaders 2011 shortlist for each of the 10 categories highlights the work of the top green businesses, executives and corporate thinkers in the UK,” comments James Murray, editor, BusinessGreen.
“The awards received over 130 entries, each demonstrating the manner in which British businesses are increasingly embracing the urgent need to develop more sustainable business models.”
As part of the global drive to reduce energy and carbon dioxide emissions across the business, HSBC set a target to power manage at least 70 percent of the organization`s global PC estate in 2009. The deployment of NightWatchman advanced PC power management from 1E across HSBC`s PC estate saved over 3 million kilograms of CO2 and 7.2 million kWh of energy in that year alone.
Speaking about the award nominations Sumir Karayi, CEO, 1E, said: “We are extremely proud that our work is being recognized by this leading sustainable business site in the UK. We are proud to deliver on our promise of driving IT efficiency and enabling our customers to see significant energy and cost savings as a result of deploying our solutions.”
