Global recruiting firm turns to Nomad for simple, efficient, cost-effective and flexible automated software deployment and distribution
London and New York – January 14, 2015 – 1E, the global leader in IT efficiency software, today announced that leading global recruiting firm SThree has chosen Nomad, 1E’s software deployment solution, to help support its IT initiatives in 2015, including a major transition from thin-client Linux devices to Windows PCs across the organization.
After a thorough review of several vendors, SThree selected 1E for its ability to eliminate distribution point infrastructure and remove the need for hardware and on-site support through its peer-to-peer capabilities. This has allowed SThree to maintain a streamlined IT team while still allowing new offices to be quickly and dynamically set up.
Currently deployed across more than 11 million seats worldwide, Nomad delivers transformative IT cost optimization to the enterprise by reducing more than 95 percent of servers from System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) architectures. Recently, 1E announced the seamless integration between Nomad and its market-leading PC power management software, NightWatchman, providing the most resilient and highly available approach to enterprise software and patch deployment on the market.
SThree has benefited from certain advantages in adopting a thin-client environment, notably the ability to set up offices extremely quickly in order to leverage new markets. Recently, SThree identified a need to move to a standard Windows PC architecture in order to take advantage of emerging cloud solutions for its industry and Nomad fitted its requirement for a solution that would allow it to combine the versatile, rapid setup of a thin-client architecture with the versatility of Windows-enabled PCs.
As SThree looked to replace its Linux thin client device with desktop PCs, it became clear the transition would traditionally require distribution point architecture, patches, hardware, support from resources on the ground, servers requiring air conditioning and more. However, with a diverse estate that consists of 40 offices in 19 countries and IT headquarters based in London, this investment in technology and manpower was not within the project’s scope.
Uninterested in implementing another complicated technology that would need a new architecture, SThree turned to Nomad for its out-of-the-box capabilities.

We have an aggressive time plan to deploy 3,000 images this year, but we’re confident that by working with 1E, we’ll be able to achieve our goals.”
