Vlog | Controlling Patch Instalment Chaos

Tachyon-Tuesday-dark

Shaun Cassell’s recent Tachyon Tuesday blog, ‘Patches not installing – the cascading chaos’, focused on patch compliance. Shaun outlined each relevant layer to explore how to achieve fast, easy, repeatable patch compliance. In this vlog, Shaun talks us through why patching fails – not just high level, but right down into the operating system.

Dig a little deeper into the process as it is, where we need to be able to identify the single process of why patches are failing, how we can repair MEMCM, and the ‘Matryoshka Doll’ of layers:

  • Layer 1 – Visibility?
  • Layer 2 – Patching Source?
  • Layer 3 – Windows Update Healthy?
  • Layer 4 – Windows Core files Healthy?
