Getting to know the CRO: A Q&A with Richard Ward

We’ve been making a lot of changes here at 1E. Following the recent acquisition by the Carlyle Group, we’ve welcomed several new members to the 1E team, including Richard Ward our new Chief Revenue Officer. We thought you’d like to get to know him a little better…

As I’m sure you’re aware, 2021 has been a big year for 1E: in June we announced our acquisition by The Carlyle Group, following that we appointed a new CEO, doubled down on commitment to growth, and additional C-suite team members joined us too. One of which is Richard Ward, Chief Revenue Officer.

Prior to 1E, Richard spent over a decade at Eggplant, where he was Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales. His roots are in engineering, which means Richard enjoys solving logical problems. However, this isn’t Wikipedia, we don’t just want to rattle off some general knowledge to you. We want to give you the opportunity to get to know Richard properly; his market views, aspirations for 1E’s future, and why he decided to join in the first place.

If we can take anything away from this conversation with Richard, it’s 3 things:

1. Employee engagement and productivity are boardroom concerns driving Digital Employee Experience (DEX): with these concerns forming new business goals for the c-suite, organizations need to focus on becoming user-centric and creating frictionless digital experiences through DEX.

2. 2022 is going to be the year of investment: with working from anywhere set to continue as the new norm, and DEX growing in significance, 2022 into 2023 will be a time of investment – and this is our moment to be among the first to ride this wave and be part of shaping the future of DEX

3 Don’t just admire the problem, fix it: something that’s really captured Richard’s interest and confidence is 1E’s emotive (employee experience and user-focused), cost reductive (reducing mean time to fix) and revenue generative (improving productivity) solutions. Our maniacal focus on employees and their experience is something he considers to be unique.

Now, you’ve seen the word DEX here a lot. Keen to learn more? We’ve got you covered! You can find out everything you need to know about digital employee experience (DEX) here.
