New release provides enhanced functionalities to augment your Windows 10 migration

London and New York, May 26, 2016 : 1E, the world leader in Software Lifecycle Automation has released a new version of Shopping – the App Store for the Enterprise. Shopping combines the on-demand user experience of consumer devices with the control, integration and automation needs of corporate IT.

Shopping 5.3 introduces some significant new features not only for enhanced user-experience but also to augment administrator capabilities and security. It includes features such as Application Mapping, Application Sets, OS deployment on behalf of others, Enhanced security and 508 Compliance. The new release is built to enhance the existing capabilities in Shopping in order to enable automated software delivery in the world’s largest organizations.

With Shopping 5.3, administrators can now build application mapping between Shopping and AppClarity (1E’s software asset management solution) with reduced manual effort. In addition to Application Mapping, Shopping now provides Application sets, which allows administrators to logically group applications based on criteria like line-of-business, user profile and region. This accelerates the turnaround time associated with new-user provisioning and machine re-builds.

The new release also addresses a very important requirement for future OS migrations, by allowing administrators to define the OS deployment roll-out plan for devices. Once the roll out plan is defined, Shopping initiates the migration process automatically for the target devices at the scheduled time. This is of significant value not only for OS migration projects but also for on-demand re-builds carried out on a day-to-day basis.

Shopping 5.3 also takes the end-user experience to the next level for differently abled users by adding 508 compliance. 508 Compliance standards require federal agencies to provide software accessibility to differently abled users.

Sean Capes, Vice President of Engineering at 1E says, “I am excited about the release of Shopping 5.3, which adds some great features aligned to our customers’ current projects and requirements, like Windows 10 Migration and Automation of the Software Lifecycle. This is very much in line with our vision of helping organizations become truly digital.”

Shopping has been deployed across some of the world’s largest companies, with seat numbers ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands per company. Shopping currently services more than three million seats globally. For more information, visit https://www.1e.com/products/shopping-enterprise-app-store/
