IT Efficiency leader continues channel momentum in the United States and Canada

New York, March 28, 20121E, the global leader in IT Efficiency software, today announced a new distribution and services relationship with Long View Systems in North America. The relationship validates 1E’s commitment to maximizing joint customers’ existing investments in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr).

Long View has a unique Windows 7 deployment offering called Windows® 7 Program Office. As part of the Program Office, Long View offers organizations in North America a readiness assessment, which gives a high-level understanding of existing Windows Operating System (OS) environments and identifies the best architectural path forward, reducing the risks associated with an OS migration. In turn, 1E offers a number of solutions to simplify OS deployments and migrations:

  • Self-service OS deployment tool Shopping™ is being selected by customers who need near real-time installations and want to minimize requests to the IT helpdesk, saving $40 on average per request. The IT department maintains the control, but this approach gives users the freedom and flexibility to schedule their own Windows 7 migration at a time that suits them, as well as selecting which applications they want to migrate over to the new OS.
  • WAN optimization tool, Nomad Enterprise® from 1E safely and securely delivers OS images across the WAN to thousands of PCs and servers day or night. It does this without the need for branch servers or desk-side visits, which enables cost savings through server consolidation and reduced administrative overheads.

“Windows 7 uptake in the business community is today one of the highest profile and most challenging IT projects for organizations,” says Sumir Karayi, CEO, 1E. “Deployment across large, distributed organizations can be a long, complex process and an expensive task, given the frequency and size of OS and software updates. Our strong relationship with Long View will simplify that challenge for companies and provide significant cost and time savings.”

“Understanding the principles and best practices of a successful Windows 7 deployment helps IT departments save time, save money, and most importantly, improve overall business productivity of their user community,” comments Paul Krowchuk, North American Practice Director, Microsoft Services at Long View.

“We are pleased to forge this relationship with 1E. Together, we have a powerful range of solutions that can help our joint customers reduce the risks and cost of an OS deployment. 1E solutions have added significant value and differentiation to our Windows 7 deployment capabilities,” adds Krowchuk.

Long View is also looking to incorporate 1E’s Efficient IT solutions into its software asset management and license optimization projects in the cloud. AppClarity™ analyses all software applications in an enterprise environment and immediately identifies and accurately quantifies software waste. It presents a rationalized inventory of installed applications, license costs and where installations are unused, giving customers the information they need to automatically reclaim and recycle unused software assets.

“Developing our managed licensing offering, SYNC is a major focus in 2012 and beyond. We believe that 1E adds significant value here with AppClarity. Giving organizations the data they need to better prepare them for a software license audit is a valuable proposition for our customers,” concludes Krowchuk.
